The department was opened with the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture in 1966. The department was interested in expanding various disciplines related to soil and water sciences, and in preparing scientific cadres capable of managing and conducting agricultural projects or continuing their studies and obtaining high degrees and qualifications. It was also concerned with equipping various scientific laboratories and providing them with various devices and equipment. And advanced for use in the fields of research and study. The Department of Soil and Water contains four academic programmes, namely: Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences - majoring in Soil Science, Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences - majoring in Water Sciences, Master of Agricultural Sciences - majoring in Soil Sciences, Master of Agricultural Sciences - majoring in Water Sciences.
