Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
Studying chemistry is crucial in the present time, as it is a vital science that humans cannot do without. It encompasses everything from drinking water and its purification to analyzing food, industrial products, and chemical industries, and even extends to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Chemistry also plays a significant role in the surrounding environment.
The Chemistry Department is considered one of the important and competitive departments at the Faculty of Education in Tripoli, Tripoli University, with its qualified staff who are scientifically competent in both academic and research aspects. The department aims to graduate outstanding scientific and educational professionals in the field of teaching chemistry.
The study of chemistry and its applications plays a crucial role in human civilization, and mastering this field requires special effort from students pursuing it.

The Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Education in Tripoli aspires to be an effective center for scientific, applied, and educational programs, as well as services in the fields of research and applied chemistry, both locally and regionally.
Mission
The mission of the department is to train outstanding scientific and educational professionals, ethically and academically, in the field of teaching chemistry in the Libyan community. It aims to promote chemistry as a vital science in society and meet the quality standards in preparing and equipping exceptional graduates at the local and regional levels. This is achieved through developing programs and curricula, and actively engaging with Libyan and international universities.
Objectives
• Providing a distinguished level of curricula, programs and services related to the study of chemistry.• Preparing the student scientifically and educationally in the field of teaching chemistry and its applications.• Providing professional and educational personnel capable of teaching chemistry.• Providing services to society and the environment by providing consultations and scientific and applied expertise to institutions and companies and contributing to solving problems resulting from chemical pollution.• Scientific and technical communication with colleges of education in other universities to serve the exchange of scientific expertise and enrich knowledge related to chemistry.• Encouraging the department’s faculty members to produce innovative scientific research and participate in local and international scientific conferences and specialized and general seminars.• Working to create an environment and work relationships that enhance the spirit of belonging to the department, college, and society.• Consolidating and disseminating the foundations, concepts and practices of quality among all members of the department.• Making the most of the possibilities provided by modern technical means and information technology to develop cognitive and research capabilities in the field of chemistry and its teaching methods.
