About Basic Nursing

Teaching began in the department since the establishment of the college in 2007, where the student receives theoretical and practical lessons. It is considered the introductory stage in the college and includes the first four semesters. Upon completion of this stage, the student will be able to specialize in one of the departments of specialization in the college.

About myself: I’m a hard-working individual, independent, I take my work and assignments seriously, and I have good relations with my employers and colleagues. I like to be challenged and to work out of my comfort zone. I was bought up in England, which had an impact on my personality in my upbringing. I have very supportive parents who encouraged me to become who I am today. Education: - Studied primary school in Great Moor, Stockport, England (1991 – 1996). - Finished the rest of primary school grades 4 to 9 in Libya at El watheka El Khadra School, Tajoura, Tripoli – Libya. - Studied High school at Ftat El Thawra, Tripoli – Libya. - Bachelor’s degree in Public Health at University of Tripoli (2008) and graduated 2010/2011. - Took an academic IELTS exam with a total score of 6.5 … 16/11/2016. - Completed a professional Diploma in Total Nutrition from Boston University with the collaboration of UNIDOC medical training in Egypt. Candidate no. bu4124 2/12/2018. - Took an academic IELTS exam with a total score of 7.5 … 23/03/2019. - I gained my master's degree in Leadership & Management in Health and Social Care in 2019/2020 from the University of Southampton, UK. Workshops and participation: - Attended a workshop in social & psychological support from 12/09/2011 to 31/10/2011 an average of 150 hours, with association with the NCDC. - Attended MEDIC First Aid International course which was for 3 days 17-19/12/2011 (Registry number: 160817, training center: RUS 959). - I taught English enhancement at the Faculty of nursing. - Took part as a clinical instructor with the faculty of Nursing at the Tripoli Medical Centre hospital (TMC). - I was involved in community work (helping the underprivileged gain jobs) - Participated in the course for information relay team “raising awareness of HCWs about HIV infection and blood-borne diseases” from May 6th – 9th, 2012. With the National Center for Disease Control and EU team. - Also took part in the training on monitoring & evaluation for HIV/AIDS programs in concentrated and low-level epidemics (modules2, 3, and 5) from 4-6 November 2012. With the UNAIDS Regional support team for the Middle East and North Africa region and NCDC – Libya. - Participated in a 2-day workshop to review the development of nursing and develop a national strategy for nursing and midwifery in Libya from 13-14 May 2014, with the Ministry of Health, NCDC, EU, and International Medical Corps. Places of employment: - Gained experience working as a receptionist at the ALTEC center as a summer job (American Libyan Training Education Center). - Worked at Yashfeen clinic as PR from 2009 - 2011. - Worked in the HIV/AIDS and communicable diseases department in the NCDC as a counselor and health educator from April 2012 until January 2014. - Became a demonstrator at the Faculty of Nursing – at the University of Tripoli from 2013 - 2019. - Head of nursing staff at Yashfeen October 2021 till this present day. - Repositioned as an assistant lecturer at the University of Tripoli from 2022 till this present day.
